My husband and I owned and operated the cottages from 1977-1985. we bought it and it need some repairs and cleaning,which we did. we had many wonderful years there and had a great business, we didn't do a lot of updating because we wanted it to "stay" like it had been for all those years. we had repeat customers all those years and a lot were from the owners before us!
we had a few complaints during the time we were there but they were about the fact we had no pool,or colored TV,never about the cleanliness,bugs,etc.
the only reason I left was because of my husbands death in '84. I visited the cottages a few years back after Eric had passed a way and was upset at the cahnges,they say changes are good but I felt it lost that "loving feeling". the big Norfolk pine was gone, the palms were almost gone, the beautiful out door fireplace,gone! the house was redone, it just all broke my heart...sigh.
I have read the remarks of people who have been there and it just discusses me.
